This painting was inspired by my late husband, David Blades, who loved everything Christmas. I have selected a few of his handmade wooden Christmas ornaments to include in this painting. The Snowman, Choir Boys, Candy Canes, Santa Clause, Toy Soldiers and Toys were just a few of the ornaments he would display in our yard each Christmas. To make this painting even more fun I have added lots of candy canes, with some slightly hidden. How many candy canes can you find?

Shown is the Christmas display that my husband and I would put up each Christmas. It took many hours and there were close to 40 wooden ornaments in this display. We both loved Christmas so much.
This larger snowman was huge and one of my favorite decorations he became the focal point in my painting.
My late husband, David Blades, his favorite decoration at Christmas was the Choir Boys so I knew I had to include them some how.
I wanted to use this sleigh of toys but with a Nova Scotia feel so this was the inspirations behind the boats of toys.
I wanted to put more of our decorations in so next I added the Toy Soilders in my painting, they were just so wonderful.
These Candy Canes were included in the painting, I wanted to find a way to include as many of our ornaments as possible. I put the Candy Canes in the ocean because its a Christmas painting and I could LOL!
We both loved Santa so we had to include him, he was in the boats and a representation of this wooden santa ornament.
