I Love Nova Scotia Fall #5

This painting was inspired by the bright bold colours of Fall in NS. The popular Peggy's Cove Lighthouse is setting on a pile of giant pumpkins inspired by the famous Howard Dill of Windsor, whom patented the world-famous Atlantic Giant pumpkin seed. The 3 churches of Mahone Bay are featured and I also painted Maude's Oxen. My Grandson was the inspiration for the boat which he is
currently works on Herring fishing. For fun how many Herring can you find in this painting? Some are slightly hidden.

The Boat

Pictured is my grandson Alex and my great grandson Bryce, pictured in this painting is the boat my grandson started fishing on and inspired the boat in this painting. Bryce is wearing the same lobster fishing gear as his dad.

Howard Dill Giant Pumpkins

Dill's Atlantic Giant pumpkin seeds hold the world record for giant pumpkins, and produce the largest fruit in the plant kingdom. Bred in eastern Canada by Howard Dill, Atlantic Giant can reach 1,000 lbs or more!

MAUD Lewis Oxen

Maud Lewis is an amazing artist from here in Nova Scotia. The oxens are a representation of Maud's art. I love her style and her story. Learn More about Mauds story by clicking here.

Mahone Bay Churches

Mahone Bay is a town on the northwest shore of Mahone Bay along the South Shore of Nova Scotia in Lunenburg County. A long-standing picturesque tourism destination where these 3 churches stand.
